Fred and Stan Musial both loved gadgets and Fred couldn’t wait to show him his new hearing aid that had a hand-held volume control. We met the Musials for dinner and as we sat down Fred handed Stan the new volume control. Before anyone could explain the gadget, Stan started pushing and pumping the control button and as Fred came out of his seat with his eyes huge and his face turning red, we could hear the volume in his ear getting louder and louder. I managed to grab the gadget from Stan to the relief of Fred. It wasn’t so funny at the time, but later as everyone tried to imitate Fred’s face, everyone had a good laugh.
